HI I'M MIA PETRUZZO!
When I went to audition for the 6th-grade musical, most kids sang songs from the Disney movie Moana. I sang "On My Own" from Les Misérables. If that does not sum up my ever-dramatic personality, I'm not quite sure what will. Inherited from my mom and grandma, I loved musical theater at a young age. I participated in shows and took voice and dance lessons, but nothing compared to the thrill of seeing a Broadway Musical. I still feel like a kid in a candy store when I step into the bright lights of Manhattan's Theater District. My prized collection of Playbills I have collected over the years sits in my room, along with ones I inherited from my mom (images of which will be dispersed throughout this website). So when my gap year program mentors asked me what NYC-based project I would choose for my Individual Project, of course Broadway was what came to mind.

I chose to work on this question as my Independent Project for my Gap Year program, Living City Project.
Living City Project is a non-profit leading experiential education programs for young people and adults that engages NYC as a classroom, studio and community. CityGAP is LCP’s immersive, NYC-based program in which participants connect with the city, explore their passions, master life skills, and make an impact through educational experiences, internships and individual projects.
The criteria for an Individual Project are that it is essentially connected to NYC, that the question it answers is consequential and meaningful, and that the project can be completed to a high level of mastery and finished during the four months of the program.
Thank you for viewing my website and I'm excited for you to see what I've worked on!
